DALLAS – TDIndustries (TD) received two nationally-recognized awards at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) national convention this week. TD earned an Excellence in Construction (EIC) Eagle Award in the specialty contractor mechanical construction division, which includes all projects more than $10 million. Additionally, TD was also the recipient of the National Safety Award for its company-wide commitment to safety.
The Excellence in Construction judges selected TD because of its work on the 4-million-square-foot Daikin Texas Technology Park – the largest industrial tilt wall building in the world. The award honors both general and specialty contractors for innovative and high-quality merit shop construction, as well as all team members on the project. The national competition judges entries on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety, and cost.
The ABC National Safety Excellence Award recognizes companies which exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary. Awards are based on data submitted via STEP applications, essay questions and video interviews with company leaders. Categories are based on total work-hours per calendar year.
“It’s an honor to receive such great awards from the ABC,” comments Jamie Dabbs, TD’s Director of Safety. “We strive for excellence in construction and keeping all of our Partners (employee-owners) safe during the process, so this is a great reward.”
The National Safety Excellence Award competition was established in 1992 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee to recognize exceptional achievements in the field of construction safety and training.
