Project Complexity
The cooling tower structure and piping were removed. TD prefabricated 90 percent of the 36” and 24” piping headers that were installed on the roof and inside the CUP. All of the roof piping was delivered and installed ahead of steel structure construction. TD kept the hospital operating on temporary chillers, tying in the two remaining towers to the CUP. The tie-ins allowed TD to dismiss one of the temporary chillers, for significant owner cost savings. The hospital was not without chilled water during the entirety of the change-out.
