This design-assist project at Brooks City Base involved converting the Air Force Civil Engineering Command building to a tuition-free, public charter middle school. Work involved the complete renovation of a two-story building that added classrooms, a cafeteria, science labs and two main restrooms per floor.

TD's design-assist scope of work included providing and installing 72 fan-powered variable air volume (VAV) units, all new chilled water pumps, heating water piping, low-pressure duct, medium pressure duct, piping and all-new rough-in plumbing for the bathrooms. We handled substantial additional scope with no change to timeline or budget. The project, performed on an aggressive schedule, mid-pandemic, received an ABC South Texas Excellence in Construction Award for exceptional work.
